Waiting Room - Set and Costume Design, Tarragon Theatre - Mainspace

Kelly Wolf - Theatre Maker

I am passionate about creating theatre that connects with people. I have achieved this through my set and costume designs, and since 1989 have designed sets and costumes for theatrical productions across Canada.

My design work is part of an organic process conceived in collaboration with the director and with the other artists involved. It is my intention that the design will underline the telling of the story in an insightful and creative way and will affect the viewer's ideas about the play. It is my desire that the experience of theatre affect people in a way that transcends the everyday, to the point of becoming something magical.

Over the past several years, my theatre making practise has evolved and site specific and community engaged projects are the focus of my current work. Out of this development I created Open Heart Arts Theatre in 2017– a community engaged arts company based in Hamilton Ontario. While design and the stories of the physical space are still at the heart of my work, I invite you to find out more about my current projects at: www.openheartartstheatre.com
